With more production companies out there than there are films made, you're probably asking yourself, what sets Cinema 1 apart?
We are the next generation of filmmakers and storytellers. The time of the great legends that influenced us (Scorsese, Spielberg, Coppola) is passing. They changed film forever, and now it's up to the next generation to do so even more. Cinema One will be leading the next generation forward.
Orson Welles once said, "An artist needs a brush, a writer needs a pen, but a director needs an army." The team behind each of our films is the reason they get made: because of all the hard work, blood, sweat and tears (usually no tears on a Cinema One production though).
Even though each production has a different cast and crew, you will often find reoccurring members throughout our projects. We believe that a film team is just as close as family, and we like to keep our family members coming back.
Michael Aloyan was born in Hollywood, California. From a very early age, Aloyan's father got him interested in animation and immediately he wanted to become an animator. From the age of eight, he started making short films with his dad's Super 8 camera. Over the years, he began shifting toward live action filmmaking, and at the age of 12 completed his first fully edited film, The Texas War for Independence.
Since then, Aloyan has worked on over 20 short films that have played in numerous film festivals, and in 2010 he completed his first feature film. He is currently making the festival rounds with his new award-winning short film, Untermensch, and working on development for his next feature film project, Forget Me Not.
